ABOUT ROBERT ROUNDS
As a Handyman in South Minneapolis and the surrounding metro area, I get immense satisfaction from helping homeowners and small businesses fix their problems. Nothing makes me happier than knowing my customers will enjoy a high quality repair or remodel for years to come.
My path to becoming a handyman wasn't expected. For years, I wanted to work in the LED lighting industry as a scientist. That led me to pursue my PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from North Carolina State. During my five year graduate school career, I also flipped houses and did home repairs to earn money for my growing family
Upon graduation, I enthusiastically entered industry as a Research Scientist. However, I found that work in a corporate environment wasn't a good fit for me. I spent hours in meetings when I wanted to work with my hands.
The whole time I worked as a scientist, I knew I needed a change. Moving back to the Twin Cities gave me the perfect opportunity to launch Dr. FixIt, a handyman service business.
I take my years of science and engineering training and apply it to everyday tasks around your home or business.
My goal is to perform every task, so that a high quality result lasts for years. I treat every project like the result will be in my own home.
Home improvement isn't the only thing that excites me. I'll gladly speak with your about various topics including my family, materials science, wide bandgap semiconductors, entomology, astrophysics, or God.
However, I probably won't chat too much while I'm working -- my hands don't work well while my lips are moving.
